The date was March 15, 1980 at the Garden City Bowl, Garden City, NY where Earl Anthony took on the top qualifier, Mark Roth in the exciting final of the $85,000 Long Island Open.  This is a great show, which featured the TV debut of 3 players, two of which became PBA Hall of Famer's...Dave Ferraro, and Pete Weber.  

In the final match, which was a classic, Bo Burton starts off by saying "When these two bowl against each other, it's not for the money, it's for the title"

Join Dave Dials, who frequently stepped in for Chris Schenkel, and Bo Burton with the call. 

Note the the black tape on the back of the shirts was to memorialize Dick Battista who passed away late in 1979.
