January 26, 1985 at the Forum Bowl, Grand Praire, Texas for the $150,000 Quaker
State Open. The Championship Match featured Mike Edwards, the top seed and
non-winner, vs. Mike Durbin. Durbin qualified 4th, and defeated Teata Semez,
Marshall Holman and Walter Ray Williams Jr. on the way to meet Edwards. The
winner earned $27,000 and the loser, $14,000. This match featured one of the top
3 bad beats that I ever witnessed. It's along the lines of the Ballard board vs.
