In recognition of Charlie's recent victory, I was able to find a tape of him. Although it was not a victory, I thought it would bring back some memories....

The date was March 9, 1991 at the Johnny Petraglia Open at Carolier Lanes, North Brunswick, N.J. Charlie qualified 2nd that day, and was up against Bob Benoit, who defeated Norm Duke 275-244. The game was tight and went down to the 10th frame where Benoit needed two strikes to advance to the title game against Pete Weber. In the 11th, Bob got a lucky break tripping out the 4 pin to steal the game from Charlie. Weber went on to defeat Benoit and win for the 2nd week in a row. Charlie earned $8,000 for his 3rd place finish.

On a personal note, the Gulf War was in full swing, and because of it, in Detroit, the Pro Bowlers Tour was shown tape delayed on Sunday morning.
